Using Sentimental, Heirloom Silver, Gold or Platinum in a Repurposed, Custom Jewelry Design

How can the Silver, Gold or Platinum in a Sentimental Piece be Repurposed?

Yes, my husband and I can take the Silver, Gold or Platinum you have from a piece of sentimental or heirloom jewelry and repurpose it into a new design. How do we do it? There are 2 ways:

  1. TRADE IN: For this option, when you send us the metal, after we have pulled out any stones in it (if there are any), we will add the metal to our scrap pile. This pile will be recycled at some point and sold back to our metal dealers. The metal will not be used in your new piece. We will cast your new piece with new metal, and give you a trade in credit or money for your metal based on the current value of your metal.
  2. REUSE: For this option, we will use the exact metal you send to us in the new piece we design for you. Here’s how that works: Normally, when we cast pieces, the casting happens in groups of about 25-50 pieces. Each piece is attached to what is called a “Casting Tree” (see first image). The requested metal is poured in and evenly distributed to all pieces. If we want to get only your exact metal into your exact piece, we need to do an Individual Casting Tree (see second image) – only your piece would be attached so that only your metal goes into your exact piece. Any metal left over from this process can be returned to you, or traded in as in option 1. Due to the additional labor and expense, there is an additional charge for this option.
